How to set up your theme with WPML

Implementing multilingual features on your site can feel a bit intimidating, but with WPML you can be up and running in no time.

The simplest way to get started is to install the WPML core plugin (WPML Multilingual CMS) after downloading it from the Downloads page in your WPML account, here:
https://wpml.org/account/downloads/

After activating the plugin, you should see a convenient setup wizard that will walk you through the initial configuration in a step-by-step, easy to understand format.  Additionally, you can refer to the Getting Started Guide over at WPML, which includes a bit more detail as well as a helpful video and screenshots:
https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/

The Getting Started Guide will explain the differences between the translation modes (Translate Everything and Translate Some), and will show the available modules you'll want to add (we recommend String Translation and Media Translation initially, as well as WooCommerce Multilingual if you're running a WooCommerce shop).

Our themes don't include page builders, so it's a relatively pain-free process to translate using the WordPress editor directly, in conjunction with the Advanced Translation Editor (or the Classic Translation Editor if you prefer).

If there are texts in one of our themes that you have trouble finding or translating, please refer to this list for content-type-specific instructions, or reach out to us for assistance:
