Update Pro Theme - Latest
Please note – clicking “Update Now” for this theme will not work. We currently do not support automatic updates for pro themes. If you do click the “Update Now” button, you will see something like this: “Update Failed: Update package not available”.
If you have made modifications directly to your theme files, those edits/changes will be lost if you update the theme. Making changes to the code of your theme files is rarely necessary and not typically recommended, but if you do need to do this, the best method is via a child theme.
WordPress now includes a built-in way to update themes using a zip file. Previously, the only way to update custom themes was to upload the new files via FTP. Users can now easily update a theme by simply uploading it via their admin panel under Appearance > Themes > Add New.
Step 1: Theme Update Available
A "theme update available" message would look something like this:
Clicking it will show the details of the new version.
Step 2: Upload New Version
Go to Appearance > Themes and click on "Add New".
That will take you to the Add Themes screen. Now click "Upload Theme".
You will see you a form to upload your theme zip file. Download the latest version of the theme from your lyrathemes.com account (requires an active subscription) or your marketplace account (themeforest.net or mojomarketplace.com). Now select and choose the file here, and click "Install Now".
After the theme file uploads, you should see a message like this:
It gives you the old (current) theme version and the new uploaded theme version. If everything looks good, click "Replace current with uploaded".
That's it! You're all set!
Child Themes
If you're using a child theme, it's important to keep it up to date as well.
If no modifications have been made to your child theme, it's as simple as downloading the latest version of the child theme from your account and uploading it in the same way that you uploaded the parent theme above.
If you have modified the files in your child theme, the modifications will need to be applied to the new version as well.
